The Clarksville Police Department is currently conducting a death investigation of a six month old infant that occurred on February the 25th 2016 at an apartment on Shady Grove Road. The infant has been sent to the Arkansas Crime Lab for an autopsy to be done. An arrest has been made at this time of the infant’s father 28 year old Brandon Lavert Patton of Clarksville. Brandon Lavert Patton is currently being held at the Johnson County Detention Center on the charge of Battery 2nd Degree. The investigation is ongoing and charges could change as the results of the autopsy are not known at this time. Brandon Lavert Patton has had a bond hearing in front of Circuit Court Judge William “Bill” Pearson on February the 26th 2016. Circuit Court Judge William “Bill” Pearson set a bond of $500,000.00 Cash or Commercial.

On 03/29/2016 Clarksville resident Valeria Irene Rivera was arrested on the charge of Permitting the Abuse of a Minor (Class B Felony). Mrs. Irene Valeria Rivera was charged as a result from the information obtained from the ongoing investigation into the death of her six month old baby on February 25th 2016. Valeria Irene Rivera had a bond hearing in front of Circuit Court Judge William “Bill” Pearson on 03/29/2016. Circuit Court Judge William “Bill” Pearson set a bond of $5,000.00 Cash or Commercial.

On 03/29/2016 Brandon Lavert Patton’s charge of Battery 2nd Degree was upgraded to Battery 1st Degree. Circuit Court Judge William “Bill” Pearson set a bond of $500,000.00 Cash or Commercial.

The final results of the autopsy are still pending at this time.
